despite raking in AAA, Bowker still doesn't hit lefties that well.
So let's look at who he'll take ABs from:
Winn - who's heating up, though he has had a season long slump from the right side of the plate.
Ishikawa - Also doesn't hit lefties well. And the other issue is that Bowker has not played first in awhile. Last year they were desperate and threw him in there at first, but I think now they are appreciating Ishikawa's glove and I could see them hesitant to play Bowker there.
Schierholtz - actually, over a small sample size, has been killing lefties, 2 of his 3 homers are against lefties. So, despite how hot Schierholtz is, you could make an arguement to give Bowker a start here or there against righties.
Oh, and there is the matter of DFAing Lewis, who is out of options. Lewis still has value. He's fast, has good OBP and moderate power. He would definitely not make it through waivers. If they are indeed done with Lewis they need to try and trade him asap.
