this move makes me more optimistic that Gillaspie will be good enough to become the Giants starting 3rd baseman NLT 2010. Thats important because they won't have to sign a free agent 3rd baseman to a multiyear contract. Sabean must have had some glowing reports from his minor league coaches to purchase his contract so quickly.
