who make the best role players? Veterans. What does the bullpen not have? Veterans.

There is a reason Bochy leans on guys like Yabu, Walker and Tachner.

Being a reliever is as much about the mental aspect of the game as the physical ones. A nice balanced bullpen features some grizzled vets, some young hard throwers, some specialty guys.

This bullpen has guys in miscast roles, Walker as a setup man, for example, and a bunch of rookies. Your most talented reliever has been hurt (Valdez) and the bullpen has basically featured a shuttling of guys from minors to the bigs.

Next year, identify the youngsters that can stick, Romo, Sadler, etc. Get Merkin healthy. Add a vet or two and I think the bullpen can be much improved. Wilson will only get better.
