Great defensive 3b. Hits for a high average, and projected to hit some HR's too. You are gonna want him in the lineup as he hits for a high average. He could hit in the 2, 3, 6, or 7 spot in the lineup. This team is not gonna be great until Villalona and Rodriguez are up on the big league team anyhow. Posey came to college as a SS. Because of that and the fact that Sandoval is a very good catcher, I would put Sandoval at catcher.

Look at this lineup 5 years down the road:

Gillaspie
Posey
Villalona
Sandoval
Rodriguez
Rowand
Lewis or Burris
Pitcher.

1 thru 8, that would be one of the toughest offensive lineups the Giants have ever had, if all the young guys develop as projected. Then add Wendell Fairley to the mix and maybe trade Roland for bullpen help.

Again, the team is 4 to 5 years from being really good anyhow. I think guys like Sandoval, Posey, Villalona and Gillaspie are too good to be jerking them around the field when they get to the bigs. Put them in spots they are familiar with, and fast track them to the bigs. Let them develop more than normal at the Major League level. Use guys like Bowker, Ishakawa, Schierholz, etc. until Villalona and Rodriguez are ready.
