foundation for building a good team, long term. Yeah, add some key players. But for years, they literally traded away the farm for short term solutions. I believe those were McGowan's marching orders. Some of Sabean's choices really stank - e.g., Edgardo Alphonso, Benitez. And I hated following guys in the minors, knowing that anyone decent would never make into an SF Giants uniform.

I like what they're doing now. I like being able to evaluate the young players. The last two drafts were terrific, signing our young Latin players was terrific, and I can hardly wait to see these guys. These players make trips to San Jose worthwhile.
