Travis Ishikawa, (24) prospect, now at Fresno has made an impressive comeback this year and now deserves a long look at first. First of all he is a first baseman and based on what I have read throughout his career in the system he is an excellent athlete and a Snow-like fielder. So the question is how good a bat? If his recent power numbers are any indication he is about ready to get a long look at first. Take a look at these numbers, expecially since he moved over to Fresno from Conn.
Gms AB 2b Hr Rbi Avg.
Conn: 64 234 16 8 48 .291
Fres: 40 144 15 13 38 .295
---------------------------
total:104 378 31 21 86 .292
Of course these are minor league numbers but impressive nonetheless and excellent for a player known for his defensive game. I know Bowker has impressed at times, but Ishikawa deserves a look and Bowker again is an outfielder.
He had an amazing day despite a 15-9 loss, he had two homers and a triple with five RBI's.
