if he comes up, he needs to play and the Giants seem to have the mentality that it is too insulting to bench veterans. i'd be fine with him splitting the catching duties with Alfonzo and getting the 1st base AB's against LHP. in fact, he probably enables you to carry 3 catchers if you want, because you can lose whoever is in the Ortmeier/Aurilia role.
