can't we can evaluate players and a trade independent of whether they make an arbitrary list? i think our "list" has gotten to a point where there will be many potentially useful players who don't make it.

i view Ford as a project with one ++ tool who is probably a longshot given his age/level of play. i think you work with him for a couple of years to see what happens... sometimes guys like that (i.e. Velez) get better over time.

Hammond looks like nothing special, but if he can get LHB out at all, maybe you keep him around at AAA for a while.
